ResearchBecome an IZN Investigator

General information

Independent group leaders with a laboratory in the Heidelberg/Mannheim area and with a research focus in the neurosciences—whether it be basic research at the molecular, cellular, or network level, computational neuroscience, or translational or clinical research—are all invited to apply to join the IZN.

Benefits

  • Networking: enjoy regular interactions with other area neuroscientists at seminars, lectures, retreats, and special events
  • Exposure: gain new opportunities to present your group’s work to the Heidelberg/Mannheim Neuroscience community and to foster collaborations
  • Invite speakers: IZN investigators may invite speakers from other universities and institutes. The IZN will cover up to 500€ in associated expenses.
  • Student recruitment: increased exposure to students from the MSc Molecular Biosciences Neuroscience Major and to potential doctoral students and postdocs with a research focus in the neurosciences
  • IZN doctoral program: students of IZN investigators may register with the IZN International Graduate Program to complete their advanced degree

Submit a letter of motivation outlining your current research and planned input to the IZN, your CV, and a publication list to the IZN coordinator. IZN.coordinator@uni-heidelberg.de

We will then circulate your documents among the IZN directory board for consideration.
